Each year, the Institute supports the Holland & Knight Joint Venture Challenge (formerly known as the Pircher, Nichols & Meeks Joint Venture Challenge) which brings together students from UCLA School of Law and Anderson School of Business. Participating students are divided into teams of three to four students, each team with a mixture of law and business students. The teams are presented with a “deal memo” describing a complex real estate transaction and are required to prepare answers to a set of sophisticated business and legal questions. The winning team members share the $3,000 prize offered by the Lowell Milken Institute. The Challenge is co-sponsored by the UCLA Ziman Center for Real Estate and the Lowell Milken Institute.
