Developing a new virtual reality system involves the acquisition and procurement of technology, parts and software. Evelyn Shimazaki (UCLA Law '84), former in-house attorney with Apple, Tesla and Facebook/Oculus, discussed how the procurement process works and the legal issues that arise when supporting a new technology's engineering and procurement business units.
