Loryn Dunn Arkow, a partner at Kelly, Drye & Warren, shared her expertise in structuring complex commercial real estate transactions and entities. During her career she has handled a broad range of acquisition, disposition and development transactions; joint ventures, lending and other finance transactions; recapitalizations and workouts. Ms. Arkow has represented a broad range of clients including large public pension funds, pension fund advisors, private equity funds and other investors, lenders, developers and sponsors in a variety of sectors, including retail, office, industrial, multifamily, condo development, homebuilding, medical and mixed use projects. During this informative session, Ms. Arkow introduced students to the basic concepts and issues involved in a real estate joint venture agreement. Starting with a general overview of joint venture agreements and their use, Ms. Arkow also provided insights into more complicated deals and their negotiated points.
