This year, UCLA School of Law is offering interested students the opportunity to compete in an Intramural Transactional LawMeet against other UCLA Law students. The LawMeet is a “moot court” experience for students interested in transactional practice. The LawMeet requires students to work in teams to draft a transactional agreement and to negotiate its provisions against other student teams. Teams will receive online and in-person training on acquisition agreements, indemnification provisions and contract drafting.
Teams will be assigned a UCLA alumni mentor to provide guidance on drafts and negotiation strategy. On March 12, 2016 students will negotiate their documents against multiple teams during the meet. Teams will be judged by a panel of experts from practice who will evaluate the teams’ success in achieving the goals of the parties.
The information session will review the structure of the competition and how to participate. UCLA School of Law students are invited to RSVP via MyLaw.
