This year, UCLA School of Law offered interested students the opportunity to compete in the 2016 National Transactional LawMeet. The LawMeet is a “moot court” experience for students interested in transactional practice. It requires students to work in teams to draft a transactional agreement and to negotiate its provisions with other student teams. Teams are judged by a panel of experts from practice who evaluate the teams’ success in achieving the goals of the parties. Prior years’ team members have found this to be a very valuable experience.

The information session reviewed the structure of the competition and how to apply. In addition, students had an opportunity to hear from past UCLA LawMeet team members. Team coaches discussed preparation for the meet.
