Lawyers have played a significant role in counseling entrepreneurs in the development of their ventures. UCLA School of Law has not only produced some of the leading lawyers who represent entrepreneurs, it has also produced many graduates who go on to become leading entrepreneurs, such as Brian Lee ’96 and Brian Liu ’96 who co-founded LegalZoom.com, and Adam Miller ’94, the founder of Cornerstone OnDemand. The new Entrepreneurship and the Law initiative at UCLA School of Law trains law students to represent entrepreneurs and also provides them with the tools to found their own companies. The initiative includes:
- The Lowell Milken Institute-Sandler Prize for New Entrepreneurs, a business plan competition offering $100,000 in prizes
- UCLA School of Law Entrepreneurship Courses
- Placing UCLA School of Law within the ecosystem of UCLA entrepreneurship.
